Nineteen80

Space Objekt spearheaded the design, furniture and styling of 1980 - a unique new concept bar in Tanjong Pagar, Singapore.

A fusion of interior and set design. The design aesthetic focuses on reinventing classic 1980’s design cues, with a modern twist. Using reclaimed materials with a backstory - such as original cassette tapes - and combining them in ways that are sensorially rich within the space.

The concept by Space Objekt sees eclectic touches that blend with classic 80’s icons. The entrance, for instance, is a ribbed pink light vortex that plays with mirrors and light. Artwork - created by Mojoko - references iconic arcade games and complements the playful aspiration of the space. The purpose of which is to create a clean space with a sense of nostalgia of the era.
